While we're a few weeks late with this post, we figured it wasn't too late to share our 2020 resolutions with you and provide some behind-this-scenes insight into what we're focusing on this year.
2019 was a year filled with many successes and more than a few failures at our three retail stores. We managed to keep the lights on (a win in the cutthroat world of retail, right?), but we also didn't exactly thrive last year. Our supplier network changed and evolved dramatically – both good and bad – and we felt like we were one step behind the bad developments. As you might've noticed, this equated to semi-stocked stores (at times) and a slight drop in deal depth that you've come to expect when you walk through the doors at any MN Home Outlet.
Well, as cliche as it is, here's the "new year, new you" part of this post. We're changing that less-than-ideal store experience we described above and getting back to our roots of finding the best deals in home improvement and home goods in the Twin Cities to pass along to our customers (see: you!).
Here are a few of our 2020 resolutions and plans...
- Take control of our supplier network. We were relying too heavily on a few inventory agreements and realized we needed to expand our network and find more partners who believe in long-term, mutually-beneficial relationships. We're also on the hunt for more suppliers in order to stock our stores with unique and unmatched deals in home improvement and home goods.
- Transform our stores into better places to shop. We realize that's really broad and vague, but it's also honest and accurate. We want to improve our layouts, organization, signage, ... the list is (almost) endless. We hope you'll start noticing these changes soon.
- Most importantly, make our customers happier. This is always our top priority and includes the two goals above, but this year we're taking it to the next level. We're working on an improved MNHO Rewards program, revised employee and manager training, a pretty incredible giveaway slated to start in April, more visibility related to products and deals hitting our stores, and much more!
We're extremely excited for 2020 and can't wait to roll-out these resolutions to help you continue to improve your home and save money!
